Revival Files: DIY Bird Clock

Total Cost = $0

Remember how me and Sir Matt moved last month, since then I've been redecorating on a budget of well...$0. Yeah no you didn't misread that. We're not spending any money on redecorating the house. So it's led me to re-purpose a lot of things around the house that just aren't my style anymore.

Here's how you can make your own vintage inspired clock!

1 old poopy clock
a square of fabric of your choice
piece of paper
glue gun...preferably full of glue or else it's useless
Paint brush
(optional) sewing machine

1.Take your clock apart (usually it's just a couple of screws that need to be removed) and then paint the face of the clock.
2. On a piece of computer paper trace this image and then pin your traced picture to your piece of lace.

 3. With the paper and fabric pinned together cut out the bird you traced.

 4. (Optional) Use a zig zag stitch to finish the edges of the bird so that it won't fray over time.
5. Place the bird on the clock where you would like it and then use a hot glue gun to glue the bird in place. After that you can leave it as is or paint a branch underneath the bird.

6. Put the clock back together and  go order a 240 piece box of Andes mints on Amazon....okay so that's optional. But I definitely did it after I made this and it made the whole crafty accomplished feeling a ton better...just saying.

Let me know if you end up trying it! And as always, I'd love to see finished product pictures!

P.S. The famous Elaine of Clothed Much had me over at her blog this week. I shared my opinion on modesty and some tips to make modesty easier. You can check it out here!
